---I've
already reviewed other RPGs on other sites, and I even reviewed
Xenogears for THIS site, but I realized that SaGa Frontier is so
unpopular that it deserves atleast my review and maybe you can
reconsider what you've heard in the past about this RPG.
---Squaresoft
created this RPG giving you full freedom. I mean, entire freedom!
This is the first, and only US RPG that gives you the free
scenario option, and for less experienced RPGists, Free Scenario
means, you go where you want. You're allowed to go where you want,
and the only thing it can hurt is your character's ending. Yep,
there are multiple endings.
---Now,
SaGa Frontier has many, many defaults such as graphics. On the
maps, and in caves and stuff, the graphics are fine, but the
fighting is the worst I've ever seen. It's also confusing, so
Square's attempt to give you a new fighting system obviousely
failed BIG TIME!
---To
keep this review short, I'll just give you an overall.
Graphics: 3.5 out of 5
---Stunning,
beautiful portraid backgrounds with awesome character movements,
and creatures, but the fighting could have been worked on a lot
more. Who wants an RPG with horrible fighting!?
Gameplay: 3.0
---Awesome
storylines, great ending, but the flow of the game gets screwed
up because its a free scenario RPG so you have NO clue where to
go next!
---Is it
worth it?
If you have 12 dollars you're just dieing to spend and you can
find SF for that price (I have in many areas) than I recommend it,
but other than that, buy Xenogears, Suikoden, or even FF7 if you
don't own it yet.
Overall score: 3.5
out of 5
