8 of 10 Robo Pit is a fighter which basiclly features soft-core dismemberment as its twist. When you defeat your oponent you get to pick one of his arms which have different abilites(cut ,suck in,fire, block, punch etc.). Of course you have to find whats the best combination for your next oponent. Along with specials and being able to pick up objects with a fist arm, Robo Pit is a fighter that uses its twist to its full potential. Graphics: 7 hmmm.. note to other reviewers: try to review the game when it comes out. The graphics actually are very clear and the textures are at least visible. The colors are bold and varried and dont turn your eyes into jelly. The thing that sticks out in my mind is the FMV youre rewarded when you get a shot at Zio Gigas. WeXTip: use a suck arm and a shield arm and jump behind your oponent and keep using your sucker till you can combo your oponent to the next dimension. Control: 9 This is the ultimate set for a game where you control one ,behind-the-whatever ,human-like character where individual appendages do different things. Armored Core,MDK, a 3rd-person shooter, godzilla generations(from what ive heard), all of these could use RPs scheme. Downside: no analog which would have made it a flawless.(seeing as how most arenas were square with some object in the middle.) Music and sound: 8 Most games have either extremly bland music (rogue trip in some cases) or music so amazing the soundtrack sells more than the game(TM3).Robo-Pits music is right down the middle. The music is good but not grammy-winning and theres no lyrics which lets you concentrate on the action. Memorable Moment: knocking your oponent off the edge and after the music is done hearing the phone lady say "the number you have tried to reach is busy...." thats provided a few chuckles. Innovation: 8 aw heck make it an 9. Sure its a fighting game but theyve takin tis twist on the game (taking your oponents arm) and ran with it. You need to fight the right comboination for your oponents and you cant just stick with one combo for the game(although 2 or 3 should usually do it.) Even if you do find the right combo your oponent can beat the snot out of you with a well-timed special that can force you off the edge or into a corner and the next thing you know your minus an arm. Not a lot of fighters have put this big of a twist and used it as effetivly (san bloody roar and the first game to use the tag-team technique). Fun Factor: 8 The building of arms is very fun and will ocupy most of your time. The specials also add a bit of variety and give ya a good smirk when you layeth the smack down with a rod of fire. Unfortunatly this game has one of the worst two-player modes imaginable. Unlike the 1st-player mode with wide open arenas and palces to hide, the 2-player has an extremly small arena with only 4 rocks to pick up and nutin to hide behind. Memorable Moment: playing in the space arena and hiding behind a pillar, then when your oponent comes into range come out from behind holding a comet and chucking it at his monkey @$$. Overall: 8 Robo-Pit is a good one player figheter for somone that likes variety in their fighters and is tired of doing 100 hit combos and kaiokens. Pick it up if you dont have many 1-player strong games.
