OVERVIEW: To date, this is the worst game I've ever seen. It is developed by Electronic Arts and carries an ESRB rating of kids to adults (K-A). If there's a hell on earth, you will be there when you play this game.
GRAPHICS: 7.1 Sadly enough, the best feature that Road Rash sports is its graphics, which are less than average. Textures are pixilated and extremely bland looking. In addition the game suffers from a lack of detail, not to mention the excess pop up and clipping. SOUND/MUSIC: 4.0 There is only one positive aspect about this game's music, which is that if you ever feel the urge to listen to a generic, crappy, wanna be punk rock band, there's one contained within the music of Road Rash 3D. Sound effects are in the same boat as graphics. You'll hear a few grunts, the roar of your engine, and some skids. These are the kinds of sound effects that a racing game should have, but they are incredibly inadequate.
STORYLINE: 0 Road Rash 3D has no story worth mentioning, it is merely a racing game. It's not that a story could bring this game back from the dark side, but the absence of one further painfully illustrates the lack of effort put into this game. GAMEPLAY: 1.0 Play control is the worst yet, it even makes Crusin' USA for N64 look good! Controlling your motorcycle makes no sense whatsoever, especially in the turns. The ability to punch and take swipes at your opponents is so poorly implemented that it actually detracts from the already pathetic gameplay.
FUN/REPLAY VALUE: 0 No fun can be had when playing this game. I spent the worst half hour of my life trying to punch an opponent, and when I finaly did, nothing happened! There are two fun things that can be done with Road Rash 3D, but neither one involves playing it. You can either use the game as a coaster or a frisbee, however, both of those ideas are an insanely stupid waste of money considering the fact that AOL CDs are free. Road Rash 3D also has no replay value. You'll hate it from the first time you play, and each time it only gets worse. CHALLENGE: 0 It's hard, but only due to the terrible learning curve and lackluster controls. If you want a challenging racer, go to Gran Turismo, but don't waste your time with the most feeble attempt at a racing game ever. OVERALL: 2.0 For the five minute slipshod job that was put into the graphics and sound effects, this game gets a 2. Since every other aspect of the game could not be worse, so it gets an F-. WORTH BUYING: NOT IN A MILLION YEARS I've seen SNES racers that put this one to shame. Don't even bother renting it, it would be more entertaining to burn your money than to spend it on this game. If you want to find bad racers, then for God's sake hook up your N64. There is a multitude of racers that are bad enough to laugh at on N64. As for Road Rash, it's to bad to even enjoy. This game is in a crappy league of its own. IT SUCKS! To order Road Rash 3D, click
