GRAPHICS: A+ (10)
Parasite Eve is eye candy. SquareSoft took the time to give
characters unique facial expressions and body language. But
nothing compares to the first class FMVs (easily the best FMVs in
the Playstation realm) that have you gazing with your mouth wide
open. Unfortunately, graphics may be the greatest selling point
of this game.

MUSIC/SOUND: A+ (10)
This game has soft eerie music that becomes intense when
appropriate to the storyline. The "pop" feel to the
music allows for easy listening without much annoyance. In fact,
the mood is well established by the music. From monsters to gun
shots... and even paranormal insights, there are sounds that make
the game hypnotic.
GAMEPLAY: B (8.75)
OK... this is where Parasite Eve isn't as perfect anymore. Let's
start with the pros. The good thing about this game is the battle
mode. The battle stats work just like FF7 but the main character
is allowed to run around dodging enemy attacks or positioning
herself at a strategic location. The battle becomes more
interactive and strategic. This cinematic RPG presents itself
like an interactive movie. However, waiting for sequences to
finish gets annoying, especially the far-fetched story about
mitochondria rebelling against the rest of the body cells (although
now I know that mitochondria has its own DNA). There aren't much
puzzles, just a lot of running from place to place.

FUN AND REPLAY VALUE: C (7.5)
This is fun for about 10 hours. Oops, in fact, this $40 -game
takes only about 10 hours to beat. There are only six game days (of
which 4 i finished in one day). The good thing is that the
Chrysler building (where I live next to in real life), opens up
for some new exploring. But you must play the Ex-mode which is
actually replaying the whole damn thing again.
WORTH BUYING: PERHAPS
The actual playing isn't quite worth it... but the FMVs are
topnotch and perhaps even worth that $40.

OVERALL: B+ (9)
This game is like a drug hit... not that cheap and the high won't
last that long. The good thing is the FMVs are way trippy.
