GRAPHICS: B- (8.1) This game has good graphics. They're not exceptional, but they do the trick. It takes place in a 3D world that has a dark and cryptic feel to it.You can't see far into the distance because of a fog effect. This effect adds to the scary atmosphere of the game even though I could do without it. The characters are also modeled in 3D, and they look good. The graphics in Nightmare Creatures are okay, but they do have a lack of detail. If you're looking for graphics on par with Resident Evil 2, then you won't find them. SOUND/MUSIC: C (7.5) There is not so much music in this game, but more of a track. It has a low pounding bass track and an occasional melody. The music gives it an eerie feel, which is appropriate for the game, but it definitely could have been done better. The sound effects are about what you would expect. A scream or sword swipe comes in at the right time. GAMEPLAY: B (8.75) The control is pretty intuitive. It's not hard to learn. There is a button for attack and kick. There's items you can use to heal yourself or attack. It's fairly fun, but there's not a huge amount of challenge in learning the attack style. FUN AND REPLAY VALUE: B(8.6) This is a good game. It's got challenge and a good control system. It will take a while to beat, but there's no 2 player mode which could make this game a lot of fun. The worlds are well modeled, and I think that it can be fun to play old levels over or see how far you can make it without a game over. WORTH BUYING: MAYBE It's not the greatest game ever, but it is fun. I would recommend renting it, because then you'll get out of it what it's got. If you want to buy it, try to find it used because it is worth having if it only costs $20. OVERALL: B (8.3) If you want the game of the year, this isn't it. If you want something to play around with and enjoy, then go pick up your copy of Nightmare Creatures.
