OVERVIEW: Perhaps the greatest game EVER! Final Fantasy VII holds true and extends SquareSoft's definitive quality and standards. Each FF a new story with new characters. The game does have a sense of realism to it and Square has gone to extreme's with visual, audio, and the newfound "Video Game" profanity in Square's games! This game is nothing short of phenomenal! STORYLINE: An Ex-Soldier and a band of rebels attempt to destroy the global corporate raiders in Shin-Ra who are sucking out the planets life force. A cast of amazing characters and stupendous story. What starts a small rebellion againsta bunch of "Suits", turns into a mission to save the world from udder destruction. The story maybe confusing at points, but it all becomes clear soon. Again Square delivers an award-winning story for all ages!
GRAPHICS: OH MY GOD!!!!!!!! Amazing! Colossal! Stupendous! You can't begin to describe these wonders. While the overworld characters are blocky, and the battle characters are better than that, the most amazing wonder is the FMVs. HOLY $h!t! These were my thoughts, and they might be yours! The backrounds are perhaps the most spectacular images in the game. I repeat: OH MY GOD!!!!!!!! SOUND: The sound is amazing (surprise, surprise). The music may at times be odd, but it fits at all times. Some of the songs are uplifting, depressing, or just plain cool. If your new to FF, it may not be as impressive. For FF vetrans, it holds to the name of SquareSoft. Agian, like everything else, they are just plain amazing.
PLAYABILITY: It may take a while to get used to, but the controls are easy to learn. Controlling Cloud on the screen is rather easy and interacting is easy as well. The menu screen is perhaps the most difficult to master. In that, the materia system is a real pain. Once you make it out into the world and get more materia, and it is explianed in depth, it gets much eaiser to use. FUN/REPLAY VALUE: The game is long. Very, very, very, very long. It can take up to 90 hours if you know all the secrets. While the plot keeps changing and its very fun the first time around. If you play straight through, and don't find all the tricks and secrets, it has a good replay value. If you find everything, then its not as fun the second time around. But after say about 6 months after beating it, and not touching it, it's fun to play. WORTH BUYING: YES The game is definatly worth buying. If you like RPGs, get it! Action/Adventure games, get it! No matter what games you like, this is a game worth buying. For the price it sells at, it is DEFINATLY worth buying. OVERALL: (10) Great game. Its a keystone in video game history.
