Title: Final Fantasy VII

Genre: RPG Number of players: 1 Memory space: 1 block
Release date: 6/1/97 Publisher: Sony Developer: Square
Compatible peripherals: Standard controller

GRAPHICS: A(9.7)

Final Fantasy VII has some of the most stunning graphics I've ever seen. The in game graphics look almost as good as the FMV, infact, sometimes you won't even notice the difference, but, what's even more stunning is the transition to and from the FMV. The backgrounds are very detailed and look gorgeous. The characters are slightly less detailed than backgrounds, but they still look good. The battles are the best I've ever seen. You cannot believe how good the summons look unless you've seen them. Most of the time I would say graphics don't make a game, but in this case the graphics help to immerse you in an RPG that's nothing like anything you've ever played before. The only fault to the graphics is the world map. It has some pop-up in it, but it's not that big of a deal. Otherwise the graphics to this game are flawless.

"The battles are the best I've ever seen."

SOUND/MUSIC A+ (10)

There are no faults in FFVII's music. Music always fits the mood of the game. The music has much more depth than any other RPG I've music I've heard. You also will not have to listen to the same annoying tune over and over again, because FFVII has a huge number of songs.

GAMEPLAY: A (9.8)

Most of the controls come naturally. They are not hard to learn, either. There are a lot of menus in the battles and the magic system is complex. You equip materia to give your character magic spells. This takes time to learn, but it's very nice once you get to know it. You can customize your battle speed, which is great because beginners can slow it down, and experienced gamers like myself can speed up battles to add challange. The only fault here is that it can be hard to tell who you're going to use a spell on sometimes, but this is rare so don't worry about it.

"The plot is fantastic."

FUN AND REPLAY VALUE: A+ (10)

This game will give you at least 60 hours. I finished it in 50, but I have played all the previous games in the series (and I didn't do the extra things before I finished it, I did them after). It will leave you wanting to do all the extra tasks, and play again. The plot is fantastic. It is gets you hooked from the begginning, and at the end you'll want to experience it all over again.

WORTH BUYING: YES

If you are an RPG fan, then get this game. If you're not, don't write it off, at least give it a try. My cousin, who does not like RPGs, got in to this game and loved it enough to play it twice.

OVERALL: A (9.9)

Final Fantasy VII has virtually no flaws. The gameplay is so great and the story is so engrossing that you will remember it as nothing less than perfect.
